The back is a pretty huge area to work on, but at the same time, it is the most gratifying and rewarding In order to build a huge, impressive back, you have to find the right things to do. Finding the right back exercises will put you on the fast track to back gains. So, where can you find the right exercises to do in order to get a giant back? Look no further my friend!
First things first. You gotta lift heavy. The Dead Lift exercise is a great one to stack on some good weight. Remember to use proper form on this one though. Breathing correctly is also a key point while doing dead lifts. Remember to flex your back at the end of each rep. Make sure to do this exercise at the beginning of your workout while you are fresh. Preferably after a ten minute warm up. Do about three sets for about 10 reps each. The better form and breathing you have, the more weight you'll be able to pull.
Seated Cable Pull Downs will help get your upper lats get wider over time. The upper lats are the smaller parts of your upper back, so these muscles will tend to burn out a little quicker, but its okay. You will usually feel the burn after the first set, but that's a good thing. Choose the wide bar, make sure to get your grip to be as wide as possible. It will be helpful for you to get a pair of lifting straps. Using lifting straps will help take your biceps out of the equation. Pulling exercises tend to wear out the biceps pretty fast. Straps will also help you get through your sets more efficiently.
Straight Armed Cable Push Downs are one of my favorite back exercises. Never heard of this exercise before? Imagine doing tricep cable push downs, but keep your arms straight and locked out. If you concentrate on this exercise, and be sure to do slower reps, you will feel the tension in your lower lat muscles. This is what you want for a wider back. Don't use a rope for this exercise. Use the tricep push down bar instead, and use a closer grip.
The back exercises that I've listed above will definitely get you on the road to a bigger, wider back. Make sure to have a day designated just for your back, so that you can really concentrate on building the back that you've always desired. For more great back exercises, please visit my site.
