Ways to Successfully Lose Weight and Exercise This New Year

It's that time of year where everyone wants to start dieting and everything thinks they're going to magically change their lives in the New Year and become a new person. I'm not a cynical person but you can't simple change into a new person due to a New Year starting. We don't magically loose loads of weight when we've failed before and we don't magically change our view on life but what we can do is approach everything with a little bit of common sense.

I genuinely think that many people fail at losing weight in the new year because they don't choose the right diet or fitness plan for them. This article will hopefully highlight where you may have been going wrong and were you can change and not fall into the typical traps.

1. Getting fit and doing exercise isn't all about spending hours sweating in the gym. Some people enjoy going to the gym, they like to feel the burn, have the music pumping at you and they like to feel the peer pressure which often comes with the gym environment but not everyone feels this way. There is no point at all in signing up to the gym and spending the cash if you'll avoid the place like the plague and create excuse after excuse as to why you're not going. Exercise is better than none and although you might not burn as many calories by exercising in another fashion it's better than avoiding the gym. Try taking the dog for a long walk, maybe up a hill or taking a friend. If you're occupied you'll find you'll work for far longer. You'll get fresh air into the lunges and you'll burn off calories by doing an all round body workout. Giving the house a spring clean can really build up a sweat so why not kill two birds with one stone? Try roller blading or bike riding if you think that it'll keep you motivated.

2. Although there are so many different 'celebrity diets' out there if you're not going to be committed to the diet you're never going to look remotely like them. Try a diet plan, which is good for you. If you're on the move and always in a rush have a diet plan, which prepares packet meals for you. Then you simply need to take them with you and you won't be lead into temptation. If you're at home all the time try a diet which takes time to prepare meals. This way food will be taking up a large part of your day but not because you're snacking but because you're preparing it.

None of it is rocket science. Simply sit down and work out what you are more likely to stick to and go from there.  what diet is best for you
