Personal Training = Healthy Ambitions

By Mitch Wicking

It's that old chestnut, isn't it? Motivation. Without it you've had it. That's why so many people fail miserably when they try to get their weight loss routine off the ground or struggle to make it off the sofa to get down the gym. Trying to motivate yourself to do these things is difficult. So why not find someone who will do the motivating for you?

But you can forget all about walloping a punch bag in a sweaty gym or slabs of meat Rocky-style in a butcher's ice room. No these workouts are all relatively low key and involve simply your one-on-one personal trainer and you. In fact it is literally one-way one-on-one because they wear the pads and you don the gloves. And that is all you are aiming at, the pads on the trainer's hands. It is the only contact; you're not actually striking the personal trainer anywhere else on his/her body.

The thought of having to exercise with lots of other people around and equipment you have absolutely no idea how to use can be scary and is the main reason people shy away from going to the gym. Hiring a personal trainer to come to your home is the perfect way to overcome this. That immediately saves you a heap of cash each year as you have no gym membership fees only the payment to the trainer. They also bring all the equipment needed and you will be taught how to use it with the guidance of your fully qualified trainer. You might already own some pieces of fitness equipment which makes things easier, but it doesn't matter if you don't as personal trainers have a wide range of mobile equipment that they will bring with them, to make your workouts fun, variable and challenging, including fit balls, boxing mitts and pads, dynabands, medicine balls, hand weights, skip ropes and much more.

You'll be surprised how many calories you'll burn by throwing a few punches with some boxing gloves on and those who need exercise because of cardiovascular problems will also reap the rewards from boxing. Boxing is the fastest, most effective way to burn the maximum amount of calories in the shortest space of time. It works the entire body to the maximum, toning and sculpting all the muscles and provides fantastic weight loss results. It is also a seriously fun way to shed the pounds. But boxing is just one of the many types of fitness training that personal trainers adopt, and it is this fact that adds to the overall reason why the health-conscious are starting to use personal trainers rather than the gym. For instance, personal trainers can help specifically with weight management, muscle toning and shaping, resistance training for more intense muscle strengthening, training for particular sports events (such as marathons), flexibility and stretching, and abdominal training.

After all, its motivation everyone needs to succeed in any endeavor in life and getting fit is no exception. Finding that motivation on your own can be so hard. But that that is what personal trainers do. Basically, hiring a personal trainer takes away all the "fear of the gym" and instead leaves you comfortable in a one-on-one scenario that is far more conducive to following a regular fitness plan successfully. And they do it very successfully.
