Make Your Trip A Breeze With Active Lifestyle Clothing

By Eliza Mendoza

You've booked your flight, you've mapped out a route and you have an idea of what you want to see and do. Now the only thing left before you can go on your trip is to pack. While jeans are always comfortable and versatile, they're not very practical for traveling because they're so heavy and bulky. With active lifestyle clothing, however, you can look stylish and be comfortable and your trip will be a breeze.

Some of the most stylish sports clothes around are for indoor activities such as yoga or dancing. They're comfortable too and because they don't look overtly sporty, they're very versatile. A nice-looking sweater is a great choice for cooler weather while yoga or dance pants are flattering and make for great sleepwear too.

Durable clothes for outdoors activities are important too. A pair of cargo pants with lots of pockets is a great option for hikes because it's strong and light and you'll have plenty of space to pack small items such as energy bars or sunscreen. Some pants can easily be converted into shorts as well, making them an even more practical choice.

An essential for any trip is swimwear. While tiny bikinis are wonderful for a beach holiday, you may also want to pack something more suitable for water sports. For women, a tankini with boy shorts is great because you can wear the top as normal daywear too while for men, a pair of boardshorts is one of the most versatile pieces of clothing you can have in your luggage.

Many people make the mistake of packing too many pairs of underwear. However, if you choose wisely, you won't need more than three pairs. Synthetic fabrics or cotton-and-Lycra blends are good choices because they dry very quickly. Women should also take at least one sports bra for activities such as hiking or horse-riding.

The one item you shouldn't neglect is your shoes. You'll likely do plenty of walking and you need footwear that is comfortable. Hiking boots are great but be sure you'll wear then often or they'll simply clutter your luggage. Many hikes can be done in good sneakers instead. Sandals with thick soles are perfect for warmer weather and for travel days. A pair of flip flops is essential too for when your feet need to rest after an active day. Besides, they're perfect for the shower.

You don't need more than three pairs of socks if you choose wisely. Instead of wool, which takes a long time to dry, opt for acrylic or another synthetic mix that's light and dries quickly. You'll also find that a bandanna or two will come in very handy. Tie a wet one around your neck or head to cool off in the midday heat or use a bandanna as headscarf when you don't have the time to worry about your hair or when you need some sun protection.

Good active lifestyle clothing is available from stores specializing in sports and outdoors equipment. You can also order it online. These days you'll find incredibly stylish choices too so that you will even have something to wear on a night out on the town.
